Grateful for Our Flock

An “Usie” at Picnic Point.

Yesterday was #GivingTuesday, and I couldn't help but reflect on the joy, growth, and connection this year brought to the BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin. Your presence has improved this birding community, from Madison to Milwaukee and beyond. Whether you joined us for one event or twenty, your energy and support have strengthened the club; I'm endlessly grateful for that.

This flock thrives because of you—our outstanding members, the unwavering support of our leadership team, and our incredible partners at the Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance. Together, we've built a safe, welcoming space for all birders to explore nature and find joy in the simple beauty of birds that grace us with their presence in this beautiful state.

Looking back on 2024, we shared unforgettable moments on the trails—plenty of laughter, a ton of discovery, and so much joy. And while we've already created lasting memories, there's still more to come with our upcoming Christmas Bird Count events in Madison and Milwaukee. These gatherings of community and purpose remind us why we do what we do.

Looking ahead to 2025, I'm thrilled to share that we have big plans for the club! From new events to fresh opportunities to connect, the BIPOC Flock will continue to grow and soar, fueled by the vibrant energy we all bring together.

As always, remember: Bird as you are. Whenever you're ready to hit the trails, know we'll be here to welcome you with open arms and a pair of Nocs binoculars in hand. Thank you for making this club what it is—a community as vibrant and diverse as the birds we all love.

Here's to gratitude, growth, and many more shared moments in the great outdoors.

Missed out on #GivingTuesday? You can still support the club with an end-of-year donation. Every donation makes a difference. Let's go, Bird Nerds!
