What to Expect

We will meet indoors in the Flamingo Room at the Gathering Place to review birding basics, including tools that are helpful, field marks to pay attention to, and how to make birding a truly enjoyable hobby. Then we’ll fly through the indoor Aviary and other areas of the Zoo, including Lake Evinrude and the Backyard Bird Walk area to work on birding skills.

  • Admission is free to all zoo visitors on this Family Free Day.

  • Parking: Note that there is a parking fee should you choose to use the parking lot. There is also free parking along Wisconsin Avenue that is just a short walk to the zoo.

  • Time and Place: The gates open at 9:30am, giving you ample time to get to the Flamingo Room in the Gathering Place before the 10:30am start time.

  • Accessibility: The Milwaukee Zoo’s website does provide some accessibility information, but please reach out to our Milwaukee coordinator with any additional questions!
