Swift Night Out returns this September, and we are collaborating with fellow bird-loving organizations to celebrate the incredible natural phenomenon of Chimney Swifts coming in to roost during migration!

The BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin, the Feminist Bird Club - Madison Chapter, and Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance, in partnership with the Wisconsin Chimney Swift Working Group, are collaborating to host this community gathering.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 📣📣📣

We’re looking for volunteers to help with our annual Swift Night Out event this September, evenings of the 7th through the 14th. Volunteering roles could look like:

  • Directing parking at the main Swift Night Out event (9/7, 9/8 rain date)

    • What does this look like? We expect this to be a short commitment during prime "arrival time" before the event, so roughly 5:30-6:15pm.

  • Offering binoculars to visitors

    • What does this look like? Being a friendly presence, offering binoculars to visitors

  • Sharing basic information about Chimney Swifts to visitors

    • What does this look like? Being a friendly presence, sharing information from a Chimney Swift fact sheet

If you are interested, please send us an email (details in the link) with your evening availability!
