Black Birders’ Week Event:

Birding the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers with Wild Rivers

Join us June 2-4 as we bird the beautiful St. Croix and Namekagon watershed system with folks from the Wild Rivers Conservancy and with Daniel Peterson, a St. Croix National Scenic Riverway Interpretation & Education Park Ranger.

We will visit the St. Croix visitor center for a presentation on the history of the watershed, have a night owl hike led by ranger Peterson, birding by kayak on the St. Croix River as well as many areas to bird on your own or in small groups.

Kayaks will be provided and there will be a kayaking 101 instruction for those with no experience with kayaking. There will also be camping equipment available for those who need it.

Camping will be available, but the location is yet to be determined.

The St. Croix and Namekagon rivers serve as an "ecological corridor" supporting a superb richness of habitats for birds. Learn more about the birds of the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers here

Wild Rivers Conservancy will create an event registration, which will be limited to 20 people. Stay turned for more information!
